TRAVEL TO CROATIA BY AIR

To travel Croatia by air just take any international airline to any major city in Europe and catch a connecting flight.

Croatia Airlines has regular direct flights from Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tel Aviv, Vienna and Zurich. For flight information see Croatia Airlines.


Other major European airlines with flights into Croatia include: Lufthansa, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, Air France, CSA, LOT,British Airways and Aer Lingus.

You can travel Croatia by train from anywhere in Europe to Zagreb, Pula, Rijeka , Split and all other major Croatian cities except Dubrovnik.

Croatia’s rail network has direct lines to Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro. There are also indirect lines to almost all other European countries.

TRAVEL CROATIA BY CAR


If you travel Croatia and plan on driving you will need a valid driver's licence, an automobile registration card and vehicle insurance documents (including Green Card).

Speed Limits: 50 km/h - within built-up areas , 90 km/h - outside built-up areas, 110 km/h - on major motor routes, 130 km/h - on motorways , 80 km/h - for motor vehicles with a caravan trailer & 80 km/h - for buses and buses with a light trailer.

Driving with headlights is obligatory during both day and night. Use of mobile phones while driving is not permitted. Use of seat belts is obligatory.

Petrol stations are open from 7 a.m. until 7 or 8 p.m. every day; in the summer season, until 10 p.m. On-duty petrol stations in the larger cities and on main international routes are open 24 hours a day. All petrol stations sell Eurosuper 95, Super 95, Super 98, Super plus 98, Normal and Euro Diesel fuel.

TRAVEL CROATIA BY BUS


International: Regular coach services connect Croatia with all neighbouring countries, as well as Switzerland, France, Germany and Slovakia.

National: Croatia has a very comprehensive coach network that connects all parts of the country and is relatively inexpensive. Long haul coaches are comfortable and the service is excellent.
